The Honorable Judge Al Bennett administers the Oath of Public Service to the Fall 2011 eMPA and MPA graduates during the After Five Affair on December 2, 2011.

Surrounded by friends, family, professors, and University administrators, the Fall 2011 graduates of the On-line Executive Master of Public Administration (eMPA) and the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs were administered the Oath of Public Service by the Honorable Judge Al Bennett during the programs’ annual After Five Affair in December 2011.

“The Oath of Public Service is a new trend that has been introduced to give our students that encouragement and initiative to be the best public administrator that he or she can be,” said Dr. Michael O. Adams, Director of the eMPA and MPA programs.

Administered by 61st Harris County Civil District Court Judge Al Bennett, the Oath of Public Service served as a remembrance of the high ethical standards that the graduates should embrace in their career paths.

“The oath was especially significant because the Fall 2011 graduates of the eMPA program were the first inaugural class to enter the program in Fall 2010. We were so honored that Judge Bennett administered the oath and look forward to more occasions such as this,” said Adams.
