The Office of Institutional Compliance (OIC) was established to assist
the University faculty, staff and administrators in following applicable
laws, regulations, policies and procedures. Whereas no employee is
expected to know all the laws and policies that apply to the University,
he or she is expected to know and follow those that apply to his or her
job function. To assist the University in accomplishing this objective,
OIC will be responsible for the following:

Assisting in the development of standards and procedures that ensure
compliance with laws and regulations relating to Grants Management and
Contract Services.

Promoting adherence to ethical standards and the Code of Conduct for
Grants Management and Contract Services.

Monitoring activities to ensure the effectiveness of policies and
procedures established for compliance in Grants Management and Contract
Services.

Advancing compliance awareness and responsibility in all employees
through general and specialized training.

Providing recommendations to improve compliance efforts for contracts
for goods and services and grants management.

Responding to compliance-related inquiries and participating in
resolution of compliance issues.
