Gita P. Bolt, General Counsel
Gita Bolt has been with the Office of
General Counsel since February 1999. Prior to joining the Office of General
Counsel, she served as the Director of Compliance for the TSU Athletics
Department and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Child Support
Litigation Division of the Texas Attorney General’s Office. Gita is a
graduate of Tulane University School of Law and received her Bachelor of
Arts degree from Howard University. She is past-president of the Houston
Lawyers Association, former Deputy Regional Director of Region V for the
National Bar Association, an NCAA Cabinet Member, and member of the State
Bar Grievance Committee.
Tammye
Curtis-Jones, Associate General Counsel
Tammye Curtis-Jones joined
the Office of General Counsel in 2006. Prior to that, she served as an
Assistant Attorney General with the Office of the Attorney General of the
State of Texas and also worked as an Assistant General Counsel for the State
Bar of Texas. Tammye has had experience with the U.S. Department of
Education as a Staff Attorney in the Civil Rights Office. Additionally,
Tammye has over fourteen (14) years of experience as a mediator. Tammye
earned her B.S. from Sam Houston State University and her J.D. from Texas
Southern’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Tammye has broad experience in
litigation, employment law, family law and education law.

Keisha L. David, Employment Compliance
Manager
Keisha has been with the Office of General
Counsel since May 2001. Before joining the University, Keisha was a
full-time law student. She has previously worked for attorneys, serving in
numerous capacities, including office clerk, legal secretary, judicial
intern, student attorney and legal assistant. Keisha is a graduate of St.
Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas and received her B.A.
degree from Lamar University, in Beaumont, Texas.
Kedric Patterson, Legal Assistant
Kedric has been with the Office of General
Counsel since May 2002. Prior to that, he worked for the City of Houston
Municipal Court system. Kedric previously worked in the University’s
Department of Academic Affairs under the direction of Dr. Bobby Wilson and
is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a B.A. degree in
Administration of Justice.
