National Security Center of Excellence to Host Roundtable

 

Texas Southern University’s (TSU) National Transportation Security Center of Excellence -- Petrochemicals (NTSCOE-P) has scheduled a roundtable session to discuss Multi-sector Perspectives on the State of Security in the Transportation Sector on March 2, 2012 from 1:30 - 4:00 p.m., at the College of Science and Technology, room 153, in the Science Building. In addition to the roundtable session, faculty will lead an interactive demonstration of TSU’s Petrochemical Incident Location System (PILS) that offers promise to the First Responder community and others.

While there are many relevant topics to discuss  during this dialogue, the following are just some of them: Risk Assessments (Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards), Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and Personnel, Intelligent Transport Systems (GPS, Mobile Devices, Cameras), Policy, Regulations, Law Enforcement, Hazardous Material Routing, and Training Gaps.

The focus of NTSCOE--P, is to  investigate and advance methods and strategies to defend, protect and strengthen the nation’s movement of petrochemicals will be enhanced by a rich dialogue in alignment with our mission.
