The Honorable Erik D. Salwen, Ph.D. (College Station, Texas)

 

Regent Erik Salwen, Ph.D. exercises leadership in the area of counseling across business, educational and church contexts. His background spans from executive management in the technology industry to pastoral leadership on a church staff to teaching in graduate-level theological education.

 

Since 2014, his primary role has been in teaching and mentoring students at the Houston Campus of Dallas Theological Seminary as Assistant Professor of Biblical Counseling. Additionally, Salwen is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Texas and is the Founder and Executive Director of College Station Christian Counseling, PLLC.

 

Prior to his focus on theological education, Salwen was Founder and President of Oak Research, LLC, a Houston-based technology marketing research consultancy serving clients such as Hewlett Packard and Microsoft. Salwen also served as Marketing Director for Pivot3, a unified storage and computer solution company, during its initial startup phase. Earlier he worked as a product marketing professional for such technology leaders as Dell, Compaq, Hewlett Packard, and NetIQ. Spending the past twenty years in Houston and College Station, Salwen has consistently sought out opportunities to serve the local community.

 

Salwen earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin, a M.B.A. from Columbia University in New York, a M.A. in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Ph.D. in Counselor Education & Supervision from Regent University.
