Regent Sarah D. Monty-Arnoni was appointed to the Texas Southern University Board of Regents by former Governor Rick Perry in 2013. She is a partner and leader of the immigration practice group for Monty & Ramirez, where she practices exclusively in the area of U.S. immigration and naturalization law. She counsels employers in all aspects of employment‐based immigration including nonimmigrant and immigrant visas, permanent residency, citizenship, policy development and compliance with the ever‐ increasing regulations applicable to both U.S. employers and the foreign nationals whom they employ.


Regent Monty-Arnoni’s clients have encompassed individuals, investors, merging and mid‐sized businesses and large corporations in a variety of industries including energy, health care, IT consulting, oil and gas, financial services and the import/export of consumer goods. She also assists clients in performing “immigration due diligence” in preparation for corporate restructures and merger and acquisition transactions. Routinely, she assists foreign nationals at U.S. consulates and embassies abroad to facilitate the issuance of visas necessary to enter the U.S. She also represents individuals in removal matters.


A long-time supporter in her local community, Regent Monty-Arnoni is often heard on the local radio stations speaking out about immigration. Her ties and work with immigration have enabled her to make significant accomplishments in aiding her clients. She was honored with the Award of Excellence in Texas Practice in 1997 and the Amjur Award in Criminal Law, Cali Award of Excellence in 1996.


Regent Monty-Arnoni is licensed to practice law in the Southern District of Texas and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. She represents employers and foreign nationals before the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Department of State (DOS), Department of Labor (DOL) and Department of Justice (DOJ).


Regent Monty-Arnoni earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from Texas Southern University in 1997 as a Cum Laude graduate and several independent training engagements.
