Vision

TSU Television, a gateway to the marketplace of ideas, is an extension of the urban programming mandate established for Texas Southern University by the Texas Legislature. It is fully committed to urban community programming that amplifies Texas Southern University around the globe “in the 21st century as an independent institution of higher learning of the first class.”

Mission

The TSU Television mission is to strengthen and create strong community alliances by using communication technologies to provide people with information they need in order to participate fully in urban environments both domestically and internationally. It seeks to converge the power of higher education, community, television, computers and the Internet in order to connect academia to the public, children to educational role models and tools, adult learners to knowledge centers,  families to public health networks, voters to government, and people to cultural and social services. High quality teaching, research, excellence in leadership, career development, diversity, and the appreciation of humanistic values are diffused through programs that motivate, inform, educate, entertain, and unify communities through art, science, public affairs, education, business, health sciences, law, pharmacy and technology.
