Black Studies Center History Makers Oral History Videos

Black Studies Center Newspapers
The full text backfile of six influential black Newspapers: Atlanta Daily World (1931-2003); Chicago Defender (1910-1975); Daily Defender (1956-1975); Los Angeles Sentinel (1934-2005); New York Amsterdam News (1922-1994); Pittsburgh Courier (1911-2002).

Black Studies in Video is a signature collection featuring award-winning documentaries, newsreels, interviews and archival footage surveying the evolution of black culture in the United States. In partnership with California Newsreel, the database provides unique access to their African American Perspectives collection, and includes films covering history, politics, art and culture, family structure, social and economic pressures, and gender relations. Dissertations for Black Studies  Database contains doctoral dissertations and masters’ theses on a wide variety of topics and subject areas relating to Black Studies. It provides access to the record of scholarship on Black Studies in the United States.

Military and Government Collection
Offers current news pertaining to all branches  of the military and government and provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals and periodicals.   

Military and Intelligence Database
Both the historian and reporter on the frontline will find useful information in this collection, composed of content from over 400 journals, which covers all aspects of the past and current state of military affairs. Key subjects covered include: socioeconomic effects of war, governmental policies, the structure of armed forces, and many more.

National Security Archive Contains the most comprehensive collection of primary documents available, including some 63,000 important declassified of critical U.S. policy decision and 29 complete specialized collections.

PAIS Archive

ACM Digital Library (DL) The most comprehensive collection of full-text articles and bibliographic records in existence today covering the fields of computing and information technology. The full-text database includes the complete collection of ACM's publications, including journals, conference proceedings, magazines, newsletters, and multimedia titles. Trial only, access restricted to on campus users.

AGRICOLA Contains bibliographic records from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Library dating back to 1970 and including more than 4.1 million citations. Urban Studies Abstracts Includes bibliographic records covering essential areas related to urban studies, including urban affairs, community development, urban history, and other areas of key relevance to the discipline. Sage Journals Online Includes the full-text of 81 journals published by SAGE and participating societies, some journals going back 86 years, encompassing over 20,400 articles. SAGE publishes many journals in the areas of urban planning, urban revitalization, and social policies.

Sanborn Maps - Texas Digital Collection Provides digital access to large-scale maps of American towns and cities. Users have the ability to manipulate the maps, magnify and zoom in on specific sections. Provides detailed property & land-use records of 12,000 plus U.S. towns and cities throughout the past one hundred years. The maps enable researchers to trace the architectural history of individual buildings or entire communities. TSU subscribes to the Texas collection.

TRID - Transport Research International Documentation The TRID Online database contains over half a million records of published transportation research including technical reports, books, conference proceedings and journal articles. Currently there are almost 24,000 TRIS records with links to electronic copies of the full-text. 

HUD USER eBookstore Contains eBooks on housing research. Ebooks may be downloaded in Mobi, ePub, or PDF format.
