The Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting is a 132 semester hour program. It is designed as the core set of requirements for the study of business and accounting established by the AACSB.

Accounting Concentration
33 Credit Hours

Leadership Development I, II & III, Accounting Information Systems, Intermediate Accounting I, II & III, Federal Income Tax Accounting I, Cost Accounting, Business Law, Advanced Accounting, Auditing. Electives (3 Credits) - Contemporary Topics in Accounting or a Finance or Insurance course.

Students applying for major status in the Department must have an overall GPA of 2.00 or better and grades of "C" or better in English 131 and 132; Mathematics 133; and earned a GPA of 2.50 or better in Accounting 231 and 232.

CPA Examination Requirements
The Public Accountancy Act of 1991 requires that a candidate for the CPA exam, after September 1, 1997, must have completed 150 semester credit hours, the Department of Accounting offers programs that allow students to meet the requirements of the Certified Public Accounting Examination.

Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Finance is designed to give finance majors a solid foundation in the tools and techniques of finance. The program prepares students for successful careers in corporate financial analysis, investments, financial institutions, and all positions of financial decision-making in both domestic and international settings. Specifically, the educational objectives of the BBA in Finance include the following:

Finance majors should be able to, within the context of domestic and global environment, value real and financial assets and make sound decisions.
Finance majors should have knowledge of functions and operations of domestic and international financial markets and institutions.
Finance majors should be able to write clearly and effectively a report on the financial analysis of a firm.
Finance majors should demonstrate proficiency in gathering and analyzing financial data through the use of technology.

Graduation Requirements

To earn the BBA in Finance, finance majors must earn a minimum of 129 credits. Finance majors must fulfill all 66 hours of general education requirements, 30 hours of School of Business core requirements, and 33 hours of major requirements. Graduation requirements include the following: (1) Grades of C or better in all major courses (grades of C- are unacceptable); (2) no more than two grades of D in School of Business Core courses; (3) an overall GPA of 2.00 or better; and (4) an overall GPA in all major courses of 2.50 or better.
