Application Form for First-Time Freshmen
Admission to the Honors College is open to students who have exceptional academic backgrounds and an interest in continued rigorous collegiate-level coursework. Prospective students should complete the application for admission to the university as well as Honors College documents. Acceptance into the Honors College is based upon certain criteria.

Profile of Honors Recruits for 2017-2018

Academic Performance Record
First-time freshman accepted into the Honors College for 2017-2018 earned an average ACT Composite score of 25 or a score of 1199 on the SAT (Math and Critical Reading), combined with an average GPA of 3.7.

Honors recruits demonstrated strong written and verbal skills based upon their writing samples and an interview as part of the admissions process for the Honors College. Additionally, Honors recruits received outstanding letters of recommendation from high school teachers and other school personnel as well as demonstrated a knowledge of and appreciation for an Honors educational experience.

Targeted Profile of Honors Recruits for 2019-2020
An ACT of 23 or higher or an SAT (ERW+Math) of 1100 or higher, combined with a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

All applicants must submit (a) a complete application electronically, (b) copies of their transcripts, and (c) a 700-word essay (approximately 2 to 3 pages, with a central thesis and strong supporting details) in which they respond to the question, "Why do I wish to enroll in the Honors College and what can I contribute to the program?"

High school seniors also must sub­mit (d) copies of their SAT and/or ACT score reports, and (e) three letters of support – on the school's letterhead – preferably from their teachers in English, mathematics and any science.
