The Mission of Beta Gamma Sigma

The Mission of the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma is to encourage and honor academic achievement in the study of business, to cultivate and celebrate leadership and professional excellence, to advance the values of the Society, and to serve its lifelong members.

The Society’s mission is supported by four objectives:

  1. Encourage and honor academic achievement by students of business and management through chapters in business programs accredited by AACSB International
  2. Develop Beta Gamma Sigma members as student and professional leaders, and celebrate continuing leadership and excellence
  3. Foster in Beta Gamma Sigma members an enduring commitment to the founding principles and values of the Society: honor and integrity, pursuit of wisdom, earnestness, and service
  4. Connect Beta Gamma Sigma student and alumni members to each other and to opportunities in their professional lives

What is Beta Gamma Sigma?

...Respected. Since its founding in 1913, the International Honor Society Beta Gamma Sigma has recognized the outstanding academic achievements of collegiate business and management scholars.

....Prestigious. Lifetime membership is the highest recognition business scholars anywhere in the world can receive at a business program accredited by AACSB International. Only the top scholars of these programs are invited to join Beta Gamma Sigma. Beta Gamma Sigma is not a fraternity, sorority or student club. It is an organization that recognizes academic excellence in business studies.

....Global. Beta Gamma Sigma has established more than 525 collegiate chapters in over 20 countries and territories worldwide, and has inducted more than 750,000 outstanding scholars into membership. Members currently reside in all 50 U.S. states and more than 160 countries and serve in corporate, government, non-profit, educational, and other management positions at every level of responsibility.

Beta Gamma Sigma lifetime members are ….Valued. Employers and graduate programs value the significance of Beta Gamma Sigma membership. Including BGS on your resume highlights your achievement and distinguishes you from the rest.

....Intelligent. Induction into Beta Gamma Sigma signals your high academic achievement. Of the thousands of students who complete their business degree each year, only the best of the best qualify for membership in the Society. Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the reward for high academic achievement at the world’s best business schools.

....Leaders. Members of Beta Gamma Sigma comprise an exceptional group of business leaders – approximately half hold title of senior executive, group/division director, department manager or supervisor.
