TSU WEEKEND COLLEGE

Committed to accommodating students who need flexible scheduling, Texas Southern University’s Weekend College Program, through the Office of Continuing Education, offers college credit classes on weekday evenings and Saturdays. Students can earn credits for a Bachelor’s Degree in General Studies.

Balancing a job while pursuing a degree can be challenging and if you work during the week, your best opportunity to pursue higher education may be to take after work classes, which are offered in the evenings and on weekends. So, if you have always wanted to complete your college degree, but work or family responsibilities prevent you from attending classes during the day, our program is designed especially for you.

  • Classes meet on Weekday Evenings and Saturdays
  • Classes combine face-to-face meetings and online learning
  • Tuition and Fees are the same as day classes
  • Classes fill quickly, so plan to apply and register early
  • Complete a General Studies Degree with 120 hours

To register for Weekend College courses, you must be admitted to the University. Contact the Office of Admissions to have the necessary paperwork processed prior to registration. Applications for admission are also accessible online.

MORE ABOUT WEEKEND COLLEGE

Convenient Class Schedule – Weekend College classes are scheduled to meet only on weekday evenings and Saturdays. Classes are available in the Fall and Spring. Some classes are taught partially online and on campus face-to-face. Students may also take day classes that fit their schedules.

Highly Affordable – Tuition and fees are the same as day classes. Students are also eligible to apply for financial aid.

High Quality – The Weekend College is fully accredited. Outstanding faculty of the university, both full-time and part-time, teach in the program.

Transfer Credits Accepted – Courses offered from other accredited universities are accepted in the Weekend College Program and many of these credits are intended to meet the lower division general education requirements if transferring from a community college or if an Associate Degree has been earned.

OUR WEEKEND COLLEGE IS FOR YOU!

Texas Southern University’s Weekend College and Division of Continuing Education was renamed, the College of Continuing Education by the Board of Regents June 3, 1994, marking one of the most significant changes in the unit since it was created in 1973 as the Weekend College.
