The School of Communication in partnership with a grant funded by the TEGNA Foundation will host a Journalism and Media Production Boot Camp scheduled for October 8th, October 22nd, and October 29th.

The purpose of the Journalism and Media Production Boot Camp is to develop career-ready, multi-media journalists and media producers to enter the industry. The Camp will give students in the School of Communication hands-on production experience in radio and television through campus media portals – KTSU 2, TSU-TV, and social media platforms.

The Campwill provide instruction and help students identify national news issues then create a local perspective. There will be an emphasis on citizen journalism with a sub-focus on the use of social media in the news sphere.

Workshops will demonstrate the mechanics of writing and producing material in various mediums, and the importance of managing social media to attract listeners/viewers.
