The SOC's objectives are clear: to prepare students to be lifelong learners, engaged citizens, and creative leaders for careers in media and emerging industries; and to conduct groundbreaking research to bridge the gap of misconception and intolerance while building consensus and understanding across cultures.
Prospective students are welcome to join the SOC innovation culture. The SOC's innovative approach has helped it to become the "cultural hub of excellence for all things media and communication at TSU" and the communities it serves. Its new state-of-the-art multiplatform television studio, dedicated newsroom, audio engineering production room, convergence multimedia labs, KTSU2 digital lab, and centers for excellence, including Africana Futures, have placed it at the top of communication schools nationwide.
