The TSU Weekend College program is a degree completion program and our way of telling
you that we know that college is not always a straight run for everyone. Life has
a way of getting in the way of our plans and sometimes, people have the need to step
aside and deal with personal or general life issues which would make it challenging
to deal with and be a successful college student at the same time. We welcome you
back into our fold and will take special care to help you re-integrate into the college
environment by offering you classes on Friday nights and a few hours on Saturday.
That way, you can combine your work and family life with a renewed engagement towards
completing your degree.
The Weekend College is open to anyone looking for the opportunity to complete a General
Studies degree in one of the concentration areas in which we offer courses. These
areas consist of Business Management, Administration of Justice, and Communications.
The course offerings are primarily based on the needs of students who already have
at least 55 college level credits. On the other hand, if the course offerings listed
here meet your own requirements and needs, feel free to apply.
When does it start and end?
Weekend College courses are offered on the general University schedule, which are
Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Therefore, new and continuing students will start
at the same time as all other TSU students do, as prescribed in the published university
Who will teach the classes?
Our regular professors, from the Jesse H. Jones School of Business, the Colleges
of Liberal Arts and Behavioral Sciences, Science and Technology and the Barbara Jordan
and Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs.
When will classes be held?
Courses are usually offered Friday evenings from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., followed
by sessions from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Professors will guide you
through the easy steps you need to be able to navigate through Blackboard to view
course documents, assignments, and/or announcements given out during the remainder
of the week.
What if I am interested but am not able to pay?
There are several ways we could help, including assisting you with your application
for financial aid if you qualify. You may also be eligible for installment payments.
Please contact us for further details and to be directed to the appropriate office.
We look forward to seeing you on our campus this semester!
