Academic Departments The College of Education consists of four instructional departments through which undergraduate degrees and graduate degrees are offered.
Courses in Curriculum and Instruction (EDCI), Reading Education (RDG), and Special Education (SPED) are offered through the Department of Curriculum and Instruction along with the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the undergraduate level.
The Department of Educational Administration and Foundations is one of four departments in the College of Education. The Department offers programs leading to Masters Degree and Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration, and certifications in Principalship and Superintendency.
The Department of Counselor Education offers two degree programs: Master of Education in Counseling and Doctor of Education in Counselor Education. Also, offered are programs leading to professional certification in School Counseling and licensure for professional counseling in the private sector.
The primary mission of the Department of Health and Human Performance is to prepare students for entry into the workforce and for graduate study. A secondary mission is to ensure that all students matriculating through the University have an understanding of the importance of wellness and health-related fitness in a contemporary society. |
