Professional Biography
Dr. Yoruba Mutakabbir earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Hampton University, a Master of Science in Educational Policy from Georgia State University and a Ph.D in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Higher Education from Clemson University. She has served in various roles in the education and non-profit sectors. These roles include elementary teacher in the Baltimore City Public Schools and Program Coordinator at the Girl Scout Council of the Nation's Capitol.

In 2010, Dr. Mutakabbir was selected to participate in the 2010 American Educational Research Association Division J Emerging Scholars Workshop. Her publications include "Beneficial, Yet Bittersweet: Historically Black Land-Grant Colleges" in Making Connections: Interdisciplinary Approaches to Cultural Diversity. Dr. Mutakabbir has also served as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom.
