Evaluation of transcripts already on file with the University may be obtained from
the Office of the University Registrar. Transcripts not on file must be sent directly
from the source to the College of Education, Office of Student Services and Teacher
Certification. Admission to the Teacher Education and Certification Program is decided
within the College of Education. The Associate Dean for Student Services and Teacher
Certification will notify applicants of the outcome of their applications; however,
approval for admission does not imply approval of any other application for other
purposes (i.e., housing or financial aid). If the number of eligible applicants for
the Teacher Education and Certification Program exceeds the number of positions that
college facilities can accommodate, final selection will be made by a committee for
admission to the College of Education. Students seeking to transfer to the University
should note that the two application processes, to Texas Southern University and to
the College of Education Teacher Education and Certification Program, are separate
and independent. The deadlines for submission of completed applications for admission
to the University may be earlier than those for admission to the Program. To ensure
that their applications receive prompt consideration, students should apply well in
advance of the time they wish to enroll, even though test scores and transcripts may
not yet be available. Applications and all admission credentials must be received
by the College of Education's Office of Student Services and Teacher Education before
consideration for admission can be given. Students must be admitted to the Teacher
Education Program before enrolling in any professional development courses.
