Drug Literature Evaluations/Formulary Class Reviews
TSU-COPHS-DIC can assist the Subscriber in
determining which medications should be recommended for formulary
status by developing drug literature evaluations and/or formulary
class reviews.
Develop and Print Computerized Formulary
An individualized formulary can be developed from
our more than 6,000 product database and tailored to the
institution’s needs.
Drug Usage Evaluations (DUE)
TSU-COPHS-DIC can evaluate drug usage patterns and
results are developed into educational programs and possible
policies to help improve rational drug use and decrease costs
without compromising the quality of patient care. A DUE
program can be developed as a quality assurance and management tool
by incorporating “outcome variables” into audits, which
can be utilized by the institution to meet JCAHO requirements.
Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring Program
A comprehensive program for monitoring and
evaluating adverse drug reactions can be implemented at the
subscriber’s institution that meets the JCAHO requirements
for providing quality patient care.
Publish the Quarterly Newsletter
Subscribers will receive a quarterly publication that
addresses new drug reviews, drug class reviews, breakthroughs in
medicine, or current topics of interest to all health care
professionals.
Provide Pharmacy Practice Materials
TSU-COPHS-DIC can provide information to assist in
the daily activities of pharmacy practice. This includes
formulations for extemporaneous compounding, patient drug
information and/or disease information sheets, and information for
compliance with OBRA regulations.
Development of Disease Treatment Recommendations
TSU-COPHS-DIC can develop or assist the Subscriber
in the development of medical practice guidelines that incorporate
current, relevant, and comprehensive information to provide
appropriate drug therapy for patients.
Assist with the Antibiotic Management Program
TSU-COPHS-DIC can assist the Subscriber in the
implementation of a concurrent and/or prospective antibiotic
management program that addresses the prevention of resistance and
provides quality patient care.
Provide Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care
Organization Accreditation Assistance
TSU-COPHS-DIC will assist the Pharmacy Department
and P&T Committee in meeting Joint Commission requirements by
developing adverse drug reaction, drug interaction, quality
assurance, and DUE monitoring and reporting programs. In addition,
we will help prepare for the Joint Commission survey and will be
present during the interview (upon request).
Provide Committee Support (P&T, IRB, QA)
TSU-COPHS-DIC will participate, upon request, as an
ex-officio member of the above committees.
Provide Education Seminars
TSU-COPHS-DIC will provide, upon request,
educational seminars to the subscriber’s pharmacy staff,
including ACPE approved continuing education (CE) programs.
Pharmacoeconomic/Pharmacoepidemiology Analysis/Research
TSU-COPHS-DIC will conduct research to assist the
Subscriber in the decision-making processes.
