Degree in Accounting

The Bachelor of Business Administration - Accounting is a 132 semester hour program. It is designed as the core set of requirements for the study of business and accounting established by the AACSB.

Accounting Concentration
33 Credit Hours

Leadership Development I, II & III, Accounting Information Systems, Intermediate Accounting I, II & III, Federal Income Tax Accounting I, Cost Accounting, Business Law, Advanced Accounting, Auditing. Electives (3 Credits) - Contemporary Topics in Accounting or a Finance or Insurance course.

 Students applying for major status in the Department must have an overall GPA of 2.00 or better and grades of "C" or better in English 131 and 132; Mathematics 133; and earned a GPA of 2.50 or better in Accounting 231 and 232.

CPA Examination Requirements
The Public Accountancy Act of 1991 requires that a candidate for the CPA exam, after September 1, 1997, must have completed 150 semester credit hours, the Department of Accounting offers programs that allow students to meet the requirements of the Certified Public Accounting Examination.
