Welcome to the Texas Southern University Department of Music. The TSU Department of Music offers a tremendous opportunity for continued musical growth for both the music major and the non-music major in the new millennium.   In the Department of Music, there are strong and highly reputable degree programs and our music educators, conductors and applied faculty are among the finest in the nation.
In Houston, you can gain exposure to the great artists and performers of the world in a city that boasts a major orchestra, opera company, ballet and theater organizations, as well as many other flourishing arts groups. Please be advised that the decisions for scholarship and grant awards are made in the months of December, February and April.  Please be sure that all applications and forms have been submitted well in advance of these months if you are in need of financial assistance.  For all persons requesting assistance from the Department Music, an audition (taped, live or by webcam) is required.  Should you need additional information, please visit our website or contact me at your earliest convenience.
