Administration of Justice - Wiley college

Overview

The e program is being administered by The Department of Administration of Justice in the Barbara Jordan-Mickey Leland School of Public Affairs (SPA) at TSU. Program participants are TSU students and are accorded all associated rights, privileges, and responsibilities even as Wiley College provides its facilities and hospitality.

Courses are taught by experienced TSU faculty on the main campus in Houston and transmitted through videoconferencing to Wiley College classrooms. This delivery mode allows students at Wiley College to have live interactive instructional sessions with their faculty. In addition, to foster student-faculty bonding and enhance the learning experience, faculty members make several trips to the Wiley campus each semester to meet with the students and administrators. Furthermore, in some cases, summer courses may be taught at the Wiley location.

The Department strives to prepare students not only with facts and concepts, but also, more importantly, to think critically and ethically in applying knowledge to related problems and challenging situations.

The curriculum presents subjects designed to develop competence for employment and for leadership roles for students planning careers in the judiciary, law enforcement, parole and probation, corrections, institutional services, security administration, homeland security, and other related career areas in administration of justice.
