Lab Assistants
The College of Education Computer Lab Assistant position
constitutes the front-line to any and all questions,
concerns, and basic computing issues. Lab Assistants monitor
computer equipment, assist students with basic software
questions, and ultimately maintain a positive, proactive,
and assistive atmosphere for COE faculty, staff, and
students.
What are some of the characteristics looked for
in Lab Assistants?
- Demonstrated customer service skills
- Understanding of basic software suites such as MS
Office, Internet Explorer, Netscape, Email, and Graphic
editing applications.
- Understanding of basic hardware issues, e.g.,
ejecting, copying, formatting removable media
- Understanding of basic printing
functions, e.g. how to check a print queue, add/remove a
printer.
