The primary mission of the College of Science and Technology at Texas Southern University is to provide quality preparation for those who seek to major in any of the eight departments housed in the College. Additionally, the College provides quality instruction for those who are non-science majors but require proficiency in the basic sciences, mathematics, and technologies.
In keeping with the mission of the University, the College is held responsible for producing graduates who are able to meet the needs of the 21st. Century society and beyond. To do so means that research and scholarly pursuits for the advancement of knowledge must also be an invaluable component of our charge.
To provide quality instruction, research and service requires a quality faculty. The College of Science and Technology is staffed by a faculty that is well trained in teaching and research and is evidenced by the local, state, and national recognition of their peers. The prolific scientific contribution of our students both at the undergraduate and graduate level is evidence of the skills and dedication of our faculty in producing well-trained graduates.
We welcome an opportunity to educate a diverse population in the sciences, mathematics and technologies so that they may provide effective service to our communities and have the skills to develop solutions to problems of the nation and to the world, especially in our urban environments.
