Dwalah Fisher, Head Coach

Head Coach Dwalah Fisher

After a stellar career as a volleyball player at Texas Southern University, Dwalah Fisher, enters her twelfth year as head of the Lady Tiger Volleyball program.
She took over the reigns in 1994 from the legendary Audrey Ford (member of the TSU and SWAC Hall of Fame) who led the Lady Tigers to five SWAC championships in eight years.

As a coach, Fisher led her team to a SWAC Championship in 1994, and her team was Western Division Champs in 1994 & 1995.  She also tied for first place in the Western Division in 2000 and 2001.

Winning is something that Fisher is accustomed to and she tries to instill that same attitude in her players. During her playing days for Coach Ford at Texas Southern, Fisher was an All-SWAC setter in 1990, 1991 and 1992, and received SWAC All-Tournament honors every season of her collegiate career.  The Lady Tigers posted an impressive 86-50 record during her four-year career, which included three SWAC Championships and two “20-win” seasons.

The Houston native graduated from Willowridge High School (Missouri City, Texas) in 1989 where she was a standout in volleyball and basketball.  Fisher received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Business Management from Texas Southern University in 1995.  She received her Masters in Health Education in 2000 and is currently pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Coach Fisher is the Chairwoman of the SWAC Volleyball Coaches Committee.  In addition to her teaching and advising duties, she also serves on the Student Equity and Welfare Committee at Texas Southern University.

Coach Fisher enjoys bowling and drawing during her off-time.  She has recently celebrated her eighth wedding anniversary with husband Vincent Fisher, Sr.  They're the proud parents of two children; Vincent, Jr. and David Thomas Fisher.
