Commencement Rehearsal Friday, May 13, 2022

Rehearsal will be held at 12 pm at the Health & Physical Education Arena immediately followed by the Commencement Reception at 1 p.m. in the Student Recreation Center.

Students can be refunded for regalia purchased in the store.

  • Orders placed at Herff Jones.com will be refunded by Herff Jones, they have been made aware of in-person graduation cancellation.
  • Store Hours have been adjusted some- Friday 9:00 am-4:00 pm, closed over the weekend.
  • Herff Jones will open next week with store hours: Mon-Wed 10:00 am-2:00 pm. (If DPS is present in the hall.)

Commencement Program Booklet

The Commencement program booklet will list the names of all candidates who completed an application and have been approved by their colleges/schools. Names are printed as listed on the student record. Program booklets are printed several weeks prior to the ceremony; changes to the program will not be accepted.

Diploma

Candidates will receive a proxy letter with a university diploma cover when they cross the stage. Following a review and final evaluation of academic records and financial clearance, diplomas will be mail 8 weeks following the commencement ceremony. Please visit the registrar’s office website to update your permanent address information.

Please Note: (Commencement is a ceremony. Participation in the ceremony does not ensure that degree requirements have been met or that a degree has been or will be granted).

Graduation Honors Distinction

Candidates affiliated with honor societies and registered campus organizations may wear stoles, cords, and medallions that represent their affiliations.

Special Needs Candidates

Special needs candidates needing any additional services must contact the University Disabilities Services Department @ 713-313-4210 or email disabilityservices@tsu.edu.

Sign language interpreters will be present at all commencement ceremonies.

Candidates Assemble & Line-Up Information

  • Participants must adhere to their designated arrival time.
  • Participants must proceed immediately to the Fairchild Building (located across from the Rec Center Building) to receive the required name card and line-up instructions.
  • Assemble room location for colleges/schools will be posted on the entrance doors of the Fairchild Building.
  • Participants should immediately locate their college and/or school marshals. Candidates must follow instructions given by the marshals.
  • Participants should not bring anything that has to be stored. There is no storage space for personal items.

Tiger Health and Safety Guidelines

  • Face coverings are strongly encouraged at all times when entering the campus and all campus buildings.
  • All building entry has a mandatory standard contactless thermometer station check-in.
  • Please adhere to all mandatory social distancing signage and instructions at all times.
  • Hand sanitizing stations are located in all campus buildings.
  • All utilized buildings during the ceremonies will be cleaned and disinfected before and after all activities.
The Following Items Are Not Allowed Inside the Stadium:
  • No Weapons of Any Kind
  • Noise Makers or Whistles
  • Air Horns
  • Flowers or Balloons
  • Banners
  • Umbrellas
