Texas Southern University recently received the 2019 ACE Award (for Achieving Campus Efficiency) as a result of its ongoing student refund partnership with BankMobile. From January 1 to November 1, 2019, the university delivered more than 95 percent of its refunds electronically while ensuring that at least 40 percent of all students completed the refund selection process.
In August 2018, TSU enhanced the student refund process by partnering with BankMobile to deliver financial aid and other student refunds. Students can elect to have their refunds deposited to an existing account or a BankMobile Vibe checking account. “We are honored to receive this award,” said Christina Ordonez-Campos, controller in TSU’s administration and finance division.
“It is evidence that our team-efforts has resulted in efficiencies that have a significant impact on both the university and our students. This also helps our students be more focused on what matters most and successfully complete their degree requirements on time, without having to wait for their much-needed funds. Special thanks go out to the student accounting staff for its commitment and dedication.”
