TSU to Honor Veterans on Nov. 11

Texas Southern University will honor its veterans, including alumni, current students and community members, on Thursday, November 11, with a special 16th Annual Veterans Day Ceremony in the Sterling Student Life Center. The ceremony, which is hosted by the TSU Office of Veterans Services and the Division of Student Services, will take place from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

Guest speakers include Robert Okere, a readjustment counselor with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs; (Retired) SFC Roland Thomas, a recruiter for the ROTC program and military science instructor at Texas Southern University; and Nicholas Parker, a veterans outreach specialist with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The event will also honor the Jack Yates High School ROTC, which will also perform the Posting of the Colors. 

A Veterans Resource Fair will also be held during the event, and a luncheon will be served in the Student Center Tiger Room (3rd floor).
