INVESTITURE CEREMONY FOR MCKEN V. CARRINGTON

The Investiture Ceremony of McKen V. Carrington as dean of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law will be held in the Moot Court Auditorium on Friday, February 17, 2006 at 4:30 p.m. Alumni, students, faculty, staff, and members of the bench, bar, and academic communities will assemble to formally install Dean Carrington as the eighth dean of the Thurgood Marshall School of Law.

Dean Carrington assumed the deanship after his appointment was approved by the Texas Southern University Board of Regents on May 6, 2005. Carrington, a member of the School of Law faculty since 1991, has taught courses in: wills and trusts, estate planning, gift taxation, business planning, legal methods, federal income taxation and real property.

Carrington served as interim dean of the School of Law for three years prior to his appointment as dean. His law school experience includes his service as the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs from 1992-95 and as Associate Dean for Administration from 1987-92.
