TMSL ALUMNA NAMED MANAGING PARTNER
Mary A. Daffin, a 1975 graduate of Thurgood Marshall School of Law, was named managing partner of the law firm of Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier, LLP. As managing partner, Ms. Daffin will oversee all legal operations of the firm. In commenting about her new position, Ms. Daffin, in a news release stated, “I am very pleased and gratified to accept this responsibility. This firm is a national leader in providing specialized legal services to the mortgage industry, and we will continue to expand that role. I hope this also signals our leadership in promoting diversity in the legal profession.”
Prior to joining the firm in 1990, Ms. Daffin served as an Assistant United States Attorney from 1978 to 1982. She also worked as a solo practitioner for eight years. Ms. Daffin received her law degree cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law and her undergraduate degree summa cum laude from Alabama State University. A member of several Texas state bar activities, Ms. Daffin was recently appointed as vice president of professional education of the bar’s bankruptcy section. She also serves on the Judicial Council of the United Methodist Church, and on the board of trustees of the Star of Hope Mission in Houston.
