The Department of Biology -The mission of the Department of Biology is to allow students to be better informed about biological phenomena and processes as well as application of information and knowledge gained toward an improved understanding of main, society, and the universe. The Department is charged with providing undergraduate students the appropriate background to pursue medical, biomedical, and other related careers. The Department of Chemistry - The Department of Chemistry at Texas Southern University seeks to fulfill two primary missions. They are charged to prepare students for professional careers in chemistry and eventually, graduate study. The Department of Engineering Technologies - Each of our degree programs provide a broad skill set that allows students to pursue long term progression in related career areas. Although students may choose one of the three programs that we offer, they are not required to declare a minor in another area. For each program, a common core of courses is drawn from many instructional units in the University. In addition, prior to graduation, all students must pass an exit examination during their senior year.
