The Office of External Affairs, at the direction of the President, works at the city, state and federal level, to secure the goals and objectives of the University via the legislative process. In this role, the Office seeks to effectively communicate to elected officials the crucial role that Texas Southern University plays in opening the doors to educational opportunity and the resources required to achieve this mission.  In addition, the Office works in the immediate and surrounding community to provide a center of learning that encourages leadership, action, awareness and involvement.
