MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
All current students, faculty, and staff and their families are eligible for membership. A current TSU ID is needed to use the Center. Alumni and their families are also eligible to use the Center. Finally, memberships are available to those in the Community who have no affiliation to TSU. Everyone must present a current TSU Tiger One Card or Rec Center ID to access the building and its programs.
Students
All currently enrolled TSU students are members. Students must complete membership information and have a valid student identification card. Continuing students who are not enrolled in summer sessions may gain use of the Recreation Center programs by paying the posted summer session fees. Student membership is active and valid during the course of each semester/year in which the student is enrolled, is in good standing with the University, and has not violated Recreation Center policy. Students must, however, register with the Recreation Center at the beginning of each semester and verify enrollment.
Faculty and Staff
All current and retired faculty and staff are eligible for membership. Faculty and Staff must be complete proper forms and pay the required fee.
Alumni
Degreed alumni are eligible for membership. Proof of degree required to receive alumni discount. Ex-students are not eligible for discount and must apply for membership as community members. Alumni must complete proper forms and pay the required fee.
Community and Others
Those who have no affiliation with TSU may apply for membership however restrictions apply. Family members of students, faculty, staff and alumni may also apply for membership. All applicants must be at least sixteen (16) years old. Proper forms must be completed and required fee must be paid.
PAYROLL DEDUCTION
Texas Southern University Faculty and Staff have the option to obtain Recreation & Wellness Center Membership though the use of payroll deduction. When you use the payroll deduction system to pay for your membership, you are purchasing a continuous right to use the Recreation & Wellness Center. Your membership lasts as long as remain a University employee (or until you decide to cancel). Once you sign up, all you have to do is come by to pick up your new ID which will be valid for another year.
Membership Cancellations
Faculty & Staff members who pay their fees through payroll deduction and wish to cancel their membership may do so after the membership agreement expires (a year unless otherwise stated) by filling out the proper forms Other members who wish to cancel their membership irrespective to payment type, prior to the membership agreement must first seek approval from administration. Upon approval, members must then fill out proper forms. There will be NO REFUND on memberships or fees.
Membership Termination
Students
Students will lose access and membership privileges to the facilities if they are not enrolled in Texas Southern University and/or they have violated University or Recreation Center policies, rules or regulations. In the event of either, membership will be terminated.
Other Members
Members will lose access and membership privileges to the facilities if they violate University or Recreation Center policies, rules or regulations.
