Argentina M. James has been Director of Public Affairs for the Port of Houston Authority since 2002. In this position, she is responsible for PHA’s activities in the areas of community relations, government relations, media relations and media marketing – departments which have collectively won more local, national and industry awards under her stewardship than at any point in PHA history. Under her leadership, the port authority launched its multimedia campaign, “The Port Delivers the Goods,” which communicated several key messages with local, regional, national and international partners.

 

A graduate of Texas Southern University, James earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism and a Master of Arts degree in communications.  She is a Leadership Texas Fellow and a fellow of the American Leadership Forum.
