Steps After Being Admitted to TSU

Step 1 (Orientation and Placement Test): New students must complete orientation and the ASSET test before registering. New students should also register on campus at the Fairchild Building.

Step 2 (Advising): An initial advising session, by the academic advisors, is required. Advisors will guide the student through the registration process, provide individual attention for course selection, explain your assessment results, answer questions about programs, and help students with academically related problems.

Step 3 (Financial Aid): After selecting courses, students expecting financial aid need to see a financial aid counselor. All students seeking financial assistance must complete the FAFSA application. Students may file a Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. For further assistance, contact the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Step 4 (Payment): At least one half payment of tuition and fees is required at the time of registration. Cash, checks, and major credit cards are accepted for payment. Students who are receiving tuition waivers, or whose tuition is billed to a company or an agency, must see the Comptroller's Office.

Step 5 (Attending Class): Students are expected to attend classes from the first official day. If a student's name is not on the official class roll, the student should present an evidence of payment of tuition and fees to the Registrar's Office. Students who do not attend may be administratively withdrawn, and may have their financial aid cancelled
