Undergraduate Research Assistantship

The Department of Transportation Studies announces the availability of
undergraduate student research assistantship. Faculty members in the
department created this opportunity with an attempt to help undergraduate
students increase their work experiences. In this opportunity, students will
work with faculty members on a number of externally funded research
projects. Students’ responsibilities include data collection, search of
literatures, survey form design, data analysis, scientific experiment, and other
duties that will be assigned by the faculty advisors. The stipend will be paid
at a rate of $8.00 per hour. An estimate of 40-60 hours of work per month is
expected for each student.

Students who are interested in this assistantship should go through a
competitive selection process administered by the faculty committee.
Criteria for the selection will include students’ academic performance, writing
skills, recommendation letters, as well as the match of students’ background
with the needs of the particular research project. Those who are interested
should prepare and submit the following materials:

  1. An application cover letter stating your interest,
  2. One transcript,
  3. A detailed resume, and
