Hurricane Ike – Instructions, Forms and Procedures Overview

 


In an effort to facilitate TSU’s ability to quantify all damages sustained after Hurricane Ike, Marsh/FACS has implemented several reporting forms that must be utilized by all Departments. The following are a few key items and dates to remember with regard to reporting damages:

The following instructions and forms for reporting Hurricane Ike related activities and/or damages are posted on TSU’s website and are available here for reference purposes:

1.      Any questions relating to the instructions and forms should be submitted to Marsh/FACS on or before Wednesday, November 12, 2008. Please submit questions via email to: FACS@tsu.edu.

  2.      An overview of the instructions, forms and procedures (and responses to questions provided to FACS@tsu.edu by November 12, 2008) will be addressed in an open forum Town Hall Meeting (morning and afternoon sessions) on Thursday, November 13, 2008 in the Tiger Room of the Sterling Student Life Center. Two time slots are available throughout the day:

            10:00 am – 11:00 am
            1:30 pm – 2:30 pm

3.      The deadline for submitting all reporting forms related to Hurricane Ike damages at TSU is Wednesday, November 26, 2008. As long as information is submitted (on one of the four forms listed above) to FACS@tsu.edu before this date, all items will be considered for submission to the insurance company and/or FEMA. Repair/Replacement cost estimates are not required as of this date.

Marsh USA, FACS (Forensic Accounting and Claims Services) has been hired to provide assistance to Texas Southern University in preparing both an insurance claim and a FEMA claim with regard to Hurricane Ike. The individuals from FACS who will be on site throughout the claim process are: Tony Berti (forensic accounting), Deb Gallagher (project management), Bob Eldridge (forensic accounting), Jeb McPherson (forensic accounting), Bob Curtis (engineering/construction), and Cody Slape (engineering/construction). Should you or any of your colleagues have any questions with the claim preparation process, please feel free to contact the FACS team members below.
