Thrust 4: Workforce Development

TSU administration is committed to improving skills and increasing the number of degrees awarded to U.S. citizens who are under-represented in STEM fields, thereby establishing the NASA URC Workforce Development Thrust (WDT). The WDT consists of a diverse team of faculty from the areas of STEM, Education, Business, Law and Public Policy providing rich and diverse cultural environment for student development.

The primary emphasis of WDT is geared toward (a) the academic and professional development of undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate students; (b) promoting effective teaching for pre-service teachers, postdoctoral fellows and STEM faculty (c) using NASA online education resources for teaching, learning and research. To increase the workforce in NASA related areas, the WDT aims at improving student recruitment and retention, faculty and student development plan, provide undergraduate summer internship program, and outreach program.
