Dr. Ayadi received the doctorate degree in Finance from The University of Mississippi.  His several years of academic experience includes positions at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, LeMoyne-Owen College, Memphis, TN., Georgia Southern University, Stateboro, GA , Savannah State University, Savannah, GA, Fayetteville State University, Fayetteville, NC and Pfeiffer University, Charlotte, NC.  He is currently Professor of Finance at the Jesse H. Jones School of Business, Texas Southern University, Houston, TX.  Dr. Ayadi has published over forty-five refereed articles in several academic journals including: Journal of Banking and Finance; Global Finance Journal; Journal of Multinational Financial Management; The International Journal of Finance; International Review of Financial Analysis; Journal of Emerging Markets; Journal of Asian and African Studies; OPEC Review; Journal of Black Studies; American Business Review; African Review of Money, Banking & Finance; Financial Services Review; Global Business Journal; Savings and Development Quarterly Review; Nigerian Journal of Economic and Social Studies; Managerial Finance; Journal of Instructional Psychology and The Journal of Applied Business Research.  His first book, entitled, Modern Commerce in West Africa was published in summer, 1995.

He serves on the executive of the International Academy of African Business and Development (IAABD) as Proceedings Editor.

He serves on the executive of the International Association of Nigerian Studies and Development as Publicity Secretary.

He is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of African Business.

He served as Vice Chair, Faculty Senate of Fayetteville State University, North Carolina from 1999 through 2000.

He served as Chair, Faculty Senate of Fayetteville State University, North Carolina from 2000 through 2001.

He is currently a member of the Research Council at Texas Southern University.

He is also the Editor of Southwestern Business Administration Journal, a journal that is published by the Jesse H. Jones School of Business at Texas Southern University.

Dr. Ayadi is listed in the Marquis Who’s Who in America (2000-to date), Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers (1998 & 2000), School of Business & Economics, Fayetteville State University Teacher of the Year (2001/02 &1998/99), Outstanding Service Award from the Faculty Senate, Fayetteville State University (1999-2001), ANBAR Citation of Excellence in Highest Rating for a paper he published in Managerial Finance in 1998, The Pee Dee Newspaper Group - Times Upstate Newspaper Positive Image Award in 1996.  His other honors include: Author of  Best Article Award in the Applied Category from the Fogelman School of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis in 1995. Nissan Fellow in Finance in 1994, United States Achievement Academy Award in 1989, and All American Scholar in 1989.
