Resume Guidelines
No typographical errors! Always proof read. Spell check doesn’t catch everything. For example, if you accidentally type "trails" instead of "trials."

  • Use an easy to read format.
  • Quality stationary is essential.
  • One page is the preferred length.
  • Chronological format is best.
  • Consistency is key, either use sentences or phrases.

Show the depth and breadth of your experience, be specific about what you have done. For example, instead of saying "drafted pleadings and motions," be specific and say "drafted original petition for divorce," or "prepared motion for summary judgment in personal injury case."

Always include the following information: Education, Experience, Achievements, Skills.

Avoid time gaps in your employment record.

Make it clear how you got here from there, show progression plus the accumulation of skills.
