Texas Southern University has an active National Pan-Hellenic Council chapter. This umbrella organization serves as a conduit for communication and fellowship for its member organizations. Aside from the Annual Homecoming Step Show and Greek Week activities, the affiliated fraternities and sororities (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc., and Iota Phi Theta Fraternity, Inc.) engage in collective community-service projects and philanthropic endeavors. Member organizations are also encouraged to support each other's events.

Each organization has 2 representatives (1 primary and 1 alternate) and has one vote. Positions include: President, 1st Vice-President, 2nd Vice-President, Recording Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, Sergeant-at-Arms, and Community-Service Chair. The organization meets every Wednesday at 12:15pm during the Fall and Spring semesters, and is required to engage in at least one community-service project per month.
