FITNESS & WELLNESS

 

 

 

The Fitness Center is the home to the latest cardiovascular and strength-training equipment including elliptical stair climbers, treadmills, computerized bikes and free weights.  You may also choose to take advantage of our group exercise classes which are held in our aerobics studio complete with state of the art sound system.  Our certified fitness staff is always on hand for fitness orientations and assessments.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fitness Classes
(All classes one hour unless specified)

 

BODY BASICS* (TBD)

10 weeks of fitness classes, a covering different fitness component each week.

 

BOOT CAMP* (M&W @ 4:00pm, T&TH @ 6:15am)
A high intensity class which employs a combination of strength and endurance training to meet fitness goals and is recommended for those of advanced fitness levels or those who are not afraid to push themselves to that point.

 

CHAIR EXERCISE (T&TH 7:30am)
Low intensity, low resistance group exercise class that emphasizes smooth controlled movements. Geared towards participants with limited mobility or who are just deconditioned.

 

FITNESS 101 (T&TH @ 6:30pm)

An introductory class which includes basic fitness instruction along with information on services and activities at the Recreation Center that will aid in reaching fitness goals.  (M @ 6:00pm)

 

LUNCH CRUNCH (T&TH @ 12:30pm)
Come on over on your lunch break and tone up your abs!  This class is designed to build strength, condition, and tone the abdominal and lower back muscles. 

 

LEARN 2 SWIM (M&W @ 5:30)
Learn to swim with an experienced instructor in a safe and comfortable environment.  This class is introduction to water and basic swim techniques.

 

SPINNING (M @5:30pm, T&R @ 6:00am & 7:00am)
Stationary cycling is a safe way to work the muscles of the legs and allow us to easily reach our target heart rates.  Spinning has become one the most potent and popular modes of group exercise.

 

STEP AEROBICS (M&W @ 5:30pm)
Certified instructors lead members in various movements designed to burn fat, tone the body, and condition the cardiovascular and respiratory systems.  Step classes can be both challenging and fun!  Each class can be taken at one’s own pace, so there is no need to be intimidated.

 

TIGER FIT (R @ 5:30)

Total body muscular endurance/strength class which combines step and floor aerobics, cardio kickboxing and calisthenics.

 

WATER AEROBICS (MW&F @ 7:30am, T&TH @ 5:30pm)

Water aerobics is for everyone even the non-swimmer.  Water exercise can make you stronger and often thinner.  It also relaxes tight muscles, refreshes you and is unlikely to cause injuries. Deep Water Aerobics is for those who would like a more intense workout.  Participants use a floating device in the deep end of the pool.

 

YOGA (T & F @ 6:30am)
A Hindu discipline aimed at training the consciousness for a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility, this class promotes control of the mind and body.  Yoga assists in flexibility and lubrication of the joints, tendons and ligaments.

Fitness Assessments

 

Need help reaching your fitness goals?  Set up an appointment with a member of our fitness center staff for an assessment.  They will take your weight, body fat, blood pressure, and test you cardio vascular endurance and flexibility.  Once these information is obtained a workout plan can be designed just  for you.
