Heads the Executive Branch and is the spokesman for
the student body to the Board of Regents,
administration, and national organizations. The
President serves as the Chief Executive Officer of
the SGA and the student body. The President
appoints several students and officers to various
SGA departments, including the Student Publications
Board, the Election Commission, as well as to
various standing and special University committees
and councils.
Supervises and acts as Office Manager of the
Executive Cabinet. The Executive Vice President is
responsible for ensuring the President’s vision and
objectives are carried out within the Executive
Branch, and also first in the order of succession to
the Presidency.
Implements and oversees various internal programs of
the SGA and serves as the liaison between
residential, commuter and weekend students and to
the University Office of Student Services.
Implements and oversees various external programs of
the SGA, and is a liaison between the students and
the City of Houston, Texas.
Serves as the Chief Financial officer of the SGA and
is responsible for oversight and authorization of
all SGA funds.
Serves as the secretary for the Executive Cabinet
and is responsible for all clerical needs of all
cabinet members as well as recording the minutes
during Executive meetings.
