Texas Southern University’s Upward Bound Program (UBP) is a federally funded educational outreach program designed to enable eligible high school students to graduate and enter an institution of higher education. As such, the program offers a myriad of academic support services, cultural enrichment activities and counseling to eligible ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth graders. Additionally, the program helps students acquire information profiling colleges of interest as well as academic majors and related career options. As part of the program’s emphasis on postsecondary education, participants are assisted with the college application and financial aid processes.
