BBA in Finance
Overview
The BBA in finance program prepares students for successful careers in corporate financial analysis, investments, financial institutions, and all positions of financial decision-making in both domestic and international settings. Students majoring in finance develop an understanding of financial data and valuation, financial services industry, global environment, and securities markets in the contexts of risk and return and decision making. Throughout their coursework, students in the finance program receive individual attention in small classes and close supervision by full-time faculty with diverse academic and research backgrounds.
Concentration and Minor in Commercial Banking (Future Bankers Leadership Program)
A concentration or a minor in commercial banking equips students with the knowledge, skills, and experience to pursue careers in the banking industry. The curriculum includes three banking classes along with professional engagement activities that will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of banking business, selling of financial products and services, and commercial lending process. Students will have an opportunity to complete an internship with a bank, if qualified. In addition, students will have an opportunity to receive the Credit Essentials Certificate (CEC) which is a highly-valued certificate in banking.
BBA students can take the banking classes as required or general electives. Non-business students can take the banking and pre-requisite classes as part of their minor requirements.

Curriculum
The BBA in Finance is a 120 semester-hour program, designed to give finance majors a solid foundation in the tools and techniques of finance. The program builds upon a business core curriculum which includes a basic finance class. The courses include investments , financial institutions , global finance and managerial finance . Students can take elective courses such as cash management , commercial real estate , personal financial planning, or commercial banking concentration classes to gain specialized knowledge.

Outlook: According to the Occupational Outlook Handbook of the Bureau of Labor Statistics, that jobs for financial analysts are projected to increase 11% for the 2016-2026 period. According to the BLS, financial analysts earned an average salary of $83,660 in May 2020.
