How to Register for the ACT-R?
At this time, the Texas Southern University Testing Center is not offering the ACT-R. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience as we work to reintegrate this exam, post COVID-19. Please check back Summer 2022.
We look forward to serving and meeting your testing needs.
ACT-R testing is conducted on the campus of Texas Southern University for the following students:
- Prospective Students
- Admitted Students
- Current Students
Students who do not intend to attend Texas Southern University are not eligible to take the ACT-R exam but may choose to schedule the National ACT exam through the official ACT website. You may select the University Testing Center as a testing location.
Test dates will be posted mid-late Summer 2022.
Scores from residual testing are only valid at Texas Southern University. The scores are non-transferable to other institutions and/or agencies. Scores from the ACT-Residual testing are reported to the Texas Southern University Academic College or School of the major listed on your admissions file. Additional score reports are not generated and/or reported to any other institution or agency.
A minimum of 60 days must elapse before another ACT Residual Test may be taken. Scores achieved before the minimum elapsed time will be canceled without refund. ACT restricts the number of times a student may take the ACT to 12 times total. ACT Residual Testing does count toward that maximum. Scores that exceed the maximum will be canceled without refund.
The total cost for the test is $55.00 payable to Texas Southern University at the time of registration by check, money order, or credit card. The fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable.
A government issued UNEXPIRED ID with a recognizable photograph, signatures, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or Passport. Please PRINT a copy of your payment receipt.
The ACT-R Test is a 3 ½ hour exam without writing and 4 ½ hours is required with the writing.
Test results will be sent directly to the Office of Admissions within 5-7 business days. The student will NOT receive a copy of the score.
If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment and wish to reschedule, you must contact the Testing Center before your test date to set another date for your examination.
