WELCOME
The TSU S.H.A.P.E. Initiative (TSI) is a Texas Southern University and community-based partnership established by the Department of Social Work and funded by SAMHSA (Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration). S.H.A.P.E. stands for Substance Use, Mental Health, HIV/AIDS Prevention Education. TSI addresses these health disparities by offering student and community members free and confidential health screenings in-person and virtually, community-based referrals, and service linkage as based on its motto: Awareness, Action, and Empowerment. TSI is a single initiative that pulls together to make a difference.
We can fight back by raising awareness and reducing the rates of HIV, HCV, and substance use/dependence in our communities!
The only way to know for sure is to get tested.
