What does it mean to “pass” the GED® test?
The GED® test has a passing score of 145 on each test part. Therefore, you will need to reach
a score of at least 145 on each part and a total score of 580 across the four-part
battery in order to receive your GED® test credential. You may also earn the College Ready score or College Ready + Credit
score if you earn the required score on a test subject. Learn more about the College
Ready score and the College Ready + Credit score:
- Below Passing: 100-144
- GED® Passing Score: 145-164
- GED® College Ready: 165-174
- GED® College Ready + Credit: 175-200
How to Register?
All examinees are required to schedule test dates with Pearson Vue 1-877-EXAM-GED
(392-6433). You must create a GED account with Pearson Vue to start your GED® test Please check testing dates for availability and register at https://www.ged.com/.

FEE |
The cost for the GED® is $36.25 per test, $145.00 total.

IDENTIFICATION |
On the day of the test you are required to bring an un-expired driver’s license or
state ID as primary identification it must include your name, date of birth, signature,
and a recognizable photograph. If you arrive without proper identification you will
be turned away and forfeit you exam fees. Provide a valid Texas State ID or Texas
DL (if you have an out-of-state ID, you must provide proof of your residency before
you begin any testing).

TIME DURATION |
The GED test is approximately 7 ¼ hours long with the timing for the four-subject
examination.

TEST RESULTS |
Examinees will receive an unofficial score prior to leaving the test center for all
tests except Reasoning through Language Arts.
Your GED® credential will be mailed to the address that you entered in during registration.
Please verify your address is correct to avoid your GED® credential being sent to the incorrect address.

RESCHEDULING |
If you would like to reschedule or cancel your exam please contact Pearson Vue one
business in advance to avoid forfeiting your examination fees at 1-877-EXAM-GED (392-6433).

RETEST |
An examinee needing to retest will need to follow the registration process through
Pearson Vue.
