Our academic programs are designed to foster innovation and leadership, offering 53 baccalaureate degree programs, 36 master’s degree programs, three Doctor of Philosophy degree programs, and three professional doctoral degrees in education, law, and pharmacy. We are particularly proud of our high-achieving academic programs, including the highest bar pass rate and pharmacy licensure pass rate among all Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Texas Southern University is a comprehensive, urban institution classified as a Doctoral University with High Research Activity (R2). Our faculty are at the forefront of research and innovation, contributing to significant advancements across various fields. In the past fiscal year, TSU secured $44 million in research funding, reflecting a 48% increase over the past two years. This success underscores our commitment to fostering a robust research environment.
