Submit Your PhotoFaculty, Staff, and Students have the option to deposit funds directly into the Tiger Bucks (flex) account. This account is automatically set up when your Tiger 1 Card is issued. You have the option to deposit funds into this account at anytime. It is a convenient way for students, faculty, and staff to pay for purchases at various venues on campus. Depositing funds into your Tiger Bucks account indicates full agreement with the Tiger 1 Card’s Terms and Conditions.
A TigerBucks stored value account is automatically assigned with zero dollars to all cardholders when the Tiger 1 Card is issued. A deposit for any amount is required to activate the debit card functionalities of the card. Cash is accepted at the PHiL Stations located on the first floor of the Sterling Student Center. Credit and debit card is accepted online via the TSU Tiger1Card eAccounts portal: https://tiger1card-sp.transactcampus.com/eAccounts/ There are no dollar restrictions for those that choose to make a deposit at the Phil Station or via eAccounts.
Your lost or stolen card should be reported immediately to TSUPD, filling out an official police report at the General Service Building (GSB) located at 3443 Blodgett, or call (713) 313-7029. The office hours are 7:00 am until 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
There is a $25 replacement fee for all lost or stolen cards. Before obtaining a new Tiger1Card, you will need to pay 25 dollars at the E.O. Bell Building (student accounting) for a replacement card. Acceptable forms of payment are cash, checks, cashier’s checks, money orders, VISA/MC, AMEX, and Discover. Postdated checks are not accepted.
Upon payment, please email Tiger1Card office @cardoffice@tsu.edu to set up an appointment to retrieve a replacement card. You MUST bring a valid government-issued identification (driver’s license/passport) in addition to your receipt from accounting (Bell Building) to the Tiger1Card office when picking up a replacement Tiger1Card. The Tiger1Card office is conveniently located in the Ernest Sterling Student Center, Second Floor- Room 228.
Other acceptable forms of identification include a Non-driver ID Card issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles, U.S. Green Card, Passport book, or U.S. Military ID Card.
If the original card is found after being issued a new card, the original should be destroyed, as it will not function. The Tiger 1 Card Office and Texas Southern University are not responsible for any charges made on a lost or stolen card. Please read the terms and conditions when it comes to your responsibility for reporting lost or stolen cards.
If a cardholder believes there is a discrepancy with a transaction on his/her transaction
activity statement or receipt, or would like more information about a transaction
listed on the report or receipt, the cardholder shall immediately contact the Tiger
1 Card Office at (713) 313-7029 or submit a written request for an inquiry.
If a cardholder makes a request over the phone or in person, the office will ask that
a written statement be made. This statement will include: cardholder name and T Number;
a description of the transaction in question, and a thorough explanation of the alleged
discrepancy; the date, time and location where the error took place; the dollar amount
of the transaction; and a phone number where the cardholder can be reached during
the day.
The Tiger 1 Card Office must receive inquiry requests from the cardholder no later
than sixty days after an alleged discrepancy has appeared on the cardholder's transaction
activity report. The office will generally complete investigations within ten business
days after the complaint is received. All errors will be promptly corrected. Should
the investigation reveal that no error was made; the office will send a written explanation
to the cardholder immediately following the completion of the investigation.
The Tiger1Card is the official Texas Southern University (TSU) identification card
for all students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors. The card is required
identification for all active members of the TSU community. Use and acceptance of
the card indicate agreement to the terms and conditions that govern its use. These
terms and conditions are:
1. The Tiger1Card entitles the cardholder to all privileges associated with their
status.
2. Rights and privileges associated with the card are non-transferable and contingent
upon active status as a student, staff or faculty.
3. The card must be carried at all times and presented to a TSU official upon request.
4. Photo images captured for the identification card become part of the cardholder's
educational record and therefore may be used for official university business. If
a student does not want their information released, the student must notify the Registrar's
Office in writing or complete the Request to Withhold Public Information form during
the first week of class. Non-students should request a Public Access Option form from
the Human Resources Department if they require confidentiality of certain information.
5. The University will disclose information to third parties only as required by law,
or with cardholder written permission.
6. Cardholder will have the responsibility for reporting and replacing lost, stolen,
or damaged cards in a timely fashion.
7. Students under 18 years of age will be issued a card only with a parental/guardian
signature.
8. There is a $10 cancellation fee for all Tiger Buck accounts. Balances less than
$10 are non-refundable.
9. All refunds from canceled Tiger Buck accounts will be credited against any debts
owed to the university before a check is issued to the cardholder.
Notice of lost/stolen cards or unauthorized card use should be reported immediately
by phone, in person, or in writing to Texas Southern University, Tiger 1 Card Office,
Sterling Student Center, Houston, Texas 77004. The phone number is 713-313-7029. Business
hours are 7:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Students have the option of deactivating
their card by logging into the Community Online System at tiger1card.tsu.edu. All
cards found after the card is deactivated must be reactivated in the Tiger 1Card Office,
located on the 2nd floor of the Student Center. The photo must be of the person requesting
the reactivation of the card.
- The card replacement fee is payable by cash, check, or credit card in the Bursar's
Office. A copy of the receipt should be presented in the Card Office at the time of
the card re-issuance.
- Until the card is reported lost or stolen, the cardholder may be held responsible
for transactions made with the card.
- In the rare instance where there is no image on file, the cardholder is required
to present a photo ID when requesting a replacement card.
Tiger 1 card holders are encouraged to treat their ID cards as cash and keep them
in a secure place at all times.
- If the cardholder reports a lost or stolen card within two business days of learning
of the loss or theft, the cardholder's losses will be no more than $50.
- If the cardholder fails to report a lost or stolen card within two business days
of learning of the loss or theft, the cardholder's potential liability rises to $500.
- If the cardholder fails to report a lost or stolen card within 60 days, and a transaction
activity report requested by the cardholder shows card purchases that the cardholder
claims are unauthorized, the cardholder's liability will have no dollar limit.
- Tiger 1 Card value is refundable under the following conditions:
- Damaged Cards. Immediate transfer of the remaining value from a damaged card to
the new card will be made at the time of re-issuance. Damaged cards must be relinquished
to the Tiger 1 Card Office.
- Lost or Stolen Cards: Remaining balances from lost or stolen cards will be transferred
immediately to the new card at the time of re-issuance.
- Cancellations (Tiger Bucks): Individuals may request to close their account at any
time. Cash withdrawals are not permitted. Balances over $10 may be refunded and applied
against any amount due to TSU. All cancellations must be made in the Tiger 1 Card
Office.
If a point-of-sale terminal is equipped to provide a receipt, a cardholder will receive
it at the time of the purchase. A cardholder may request an account transaction history
in person, or in writing, during normal business hours at the Tiger 1 Card Office
in the Sterling Student Center. Account transaction history will not be shared over
the phone.

There are no worries about carrying cash, checks, credit cards or fumbling around for exact change when you have Tiger Bucks. You can still use your Tiger 1 Card for your meal plan, building access, library privileges, and other campus services.
The two accounts associated with you Tiger 1 Card are Tiger Bucks and Declining Balance Meal Plan. They are debit plans that work like a credit card in reverse. Every time you make a purchase, the purchase amount is automatically deducted from your account. Your remaining balance will be displayed to let you know how much you have left in your account.
Tiger Bucks is the account that is automatically set up when your Tiger 1 Card is created. You have the option to deposit money to this account at anytime. It is a convenient way for students to pay for purchases on campus. You can only spend what you put in, so there is no need to worry about going into debt. Depositing funds into your Tiger Bucks account indicates full agreement with the Tiger 1 Card’s Terms and Conditions which is shown on the back of the ID Card Agreement Form you signed when your card was issued. You may request copies of the ID Card Agreement by contacting the Tiger 1 Card Office at (713) 313-7029. This account is refundable upon graduation, official withdrawal, or when a cardholder severs his/her relationship with the university. All refunds must be requested in the Tiger 1 Card Office, Room 228, E. S. Sterling Student Center.
The Declining Balance Meal Plan account is connected to your meal plan. Your Declining Balance plan holds an extra value that accompanies your meal plan and can only be used at the University Food Service locations on campus. It is a predetermined amount, and if a cardholder has Declining Balance monies, the system will deduct the food purchased from this account. Declining Balance funds are non-refundable and must be spent before the closing day of each semester.
- Convenience: you no longer have to fumble for bills or change to pay for your food purchases, books and supplies from the bookstore, or those nuggets from Chick-fil-A.
- Security: it is safer than a carrying case. Since a photo and encoded identification number are on your Tiger 1 Card, it is almost impossible for someone else to use your card.
- Flexibility: it provides the flexibility you deserve. Whether you need to make a last-minute book purchase or buy scissors, glue and poster board with your Tiger Bucks, there is no worry.
- Money Management: It is an excellent money management tool that helps you budget and plan for your campus needs

No, you may not withdraw cash from your account.
Your purchased amounts are deducted from your account, and your remaining balance
is displayed at the register. Cash refunds are not made for returned merchandise.
Merchandise will be accepted for return according to the refund policy enforced where
goods are purchased. Return of merchandise purchased with Tiger Bucks will result
in a credit being applied to the cardholder’s account balance.
Yes, any remaining balance at the end of a semester will carry over to the next semester and continue to do so as long as the student is enrolled or a faculty/staff member at the university.
To prevent unauthorized use of your card, report the loss or stolen card immediately either on the telephone at (713) 313-7029 or in person at the Tiger 1 Card Office, located on the 2nd floor of the Sterling Student Center. No, for your protection, this card is non-transferable and its use is restricted to the person whose picture appears on the card. You may not lend your card to anyone or ask anyone to purchase items using your card. Failure to comply will result in a student being reported to the disciplinary committee.
